Bill Ryder-Jones | Deaf Institute | Friday 4 March

Following a sold out show at Gullivers in November, Bill Ryder-Jones returns to Manchester in 2016 to play Deaf Institute on March 4th. Coming to prominence as the lead guitarist and one of the main creative forces of The Coral, Ryder-Jones has since become somewhat of a musical polyglot, writing film scores, performing with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic and, of course, releasing his own critically acclaimed albums.

Signed to Domino Records, he put out three much-vaunted LPs (2011’s If… and A Bad Wind Blows In My Heart Piggy Soundtrack, both in 2013) before releasing his most accomplished work to date earlier this year with West Kirby County Primary. Below is a small section of what critics have had to say about it:

Clash, 8/10
“A transcendent return.”

“A masterfully crafted piece.”

God Is In The TV, 4/5
“His strongest material to date.”

The Line of Best Fit, 8.5/10
“Bill Ryder-Jones has confirmed his place among this country’s most vital contemporary songwriters.”

Pop Matters
“Shows yet again what a talented musician and songwriter he is.”

Music OMH, 4/5
“Unmistakeably the best of Ryder-Jones’ albums to date.”

Tickets are £10 and can be bought through See Tickets.
