As we’ve previously announced, Now Wave will be returning to the Parklife Weekender this June to present two stages – Sunday’s Now Wave arena, and the launch of Sounds of the Near Future in association with The Warehouse Project.
Parklife has now unveiled its venue for this year’s event. Taking place at Heaton Park, 2013’s festival marks the first weekender away from Fallowfield’s Platt Fields and at this more expansive site. Parklife said:
“Heaton Park is widely considered to be one of the premier outdoor venues in the north of England and has of course hosted the legendary concerts from the likes of The Stone Roses and Oasis. We are very lucky that this year no other large scale events have been planned for the park and that has opened it up for Parklife to go and plant a flag in what is a huge move from Platt Fields. We are really proud to see Parklife 2013 at Heaton Park – it definitely feels like this is going to be a key moment in the Parklife history books and see the festival grow even further.
After the last couple of years bursting at the seams in Platt Fields, the extra space at Heaton (one of the largest municipal parks in Europe) is going to give the Parklife team that extra room to create an even wider spread of madness and entertainment across the site. Larger dance arenas, more spectacular production, more hidden nooks and crannies. More of everything that makes Parklife what it is and Manchester’s official start to the summer.”
